My mom was a model for a short period of time in her life. She didn’t do anything big, but the pictures she showed revealed my mom to be a regal and beautiful creature. Ever since I was a young girl, I have always been interested in pretty clothes and makeup. When I was a teenager, I took a makeup class at my local community college and got a certificate. I don’t tend to watch tutorials on Youtube; I just blend and mix my own shades.
With clothes, I went through phases. I did the lazy look that most young kids go through, then I started wearing bell-bottoms. Then, skinny jeans came back and I started wearing those. As for blouses, those varied: slimming button downs, peasant blouses, the occasional low cut, tight fit. Dresses went from ankles to below my knees to mid-thigh.
Although, this traditional Chinese dress caught my eye on Amazon one day, and I just had to have it. The designs stitched onto it are elegant.
And sometimes, I pull out my one brother’s replica sword (Richard the Lionheart), and I can be the medieval maid.
I like experimenting with new and different looks. It’s fun to pick out each outfit and then match a makeup palette with it. I actually tend to do subtle eyes with red lips, although I do have to break out the smoky palettes and the dark sandy ones. Some day, I will try it and hopefully, I’ll convince my brother and his camera to take the pictures.
And on that note, it’s been real!
